About Taxpro

Where We Started

Inland Revenue staff members who were on Individual Employment Contracts founded Taxpro Incorporated in May 1996.

We believed that a union made up of Inland Revenue staff, controlled by them and only focused on Inland Revenue issues was the best way to have a voice in our workplace that was relevant and effective.

Our objectives are to engage directly with Inland Revenue, to consult as appropriate and negotiate our terms and conditions of employment to achieve fair employment benefits for our members.

Our Success

Taxpro has used the experience of Inland Revenue staff to develop, negotiate and implement an employment agreement for its members that provides great employment conditions and importantly establishes working relationships with Inland Revenue that enables us to continue to meet the needs of our members during the term of the agreement.

Our role as your union is to provide ongoing advice and support and advocate on behalf of our members to, wherever possible, secure outcomes favourable to Taxpro and Inland Revenue.

To supplement the skills and experience that Taxpro representatives have developed we engage as necessary an employment relations consultant for advocacy assistance and utilise other specialist advice when needed.

We have also established a working partnership with PSA, who are the largest union in the public service, to bring our joint membership numbers together to provide additional strength in numbers, where we have shared interests.  This includes the negotiation of a Multi Union Collective Agreement (MUCA).
